THE IDEA BEHIND THE EDITION

The Life Behind Marble Walls

Add an editorial image to tell the story of this edition.

The Marble Palace in Tehran is a place of surfaces that invite attention: marble, intricate Persian patterns, gardens and rooms once associated with royal life. Its architecture speaks of ceremony, artistry and a particular understanding of beauty. Yet behind the formal character of a palace lies another idea: the private life of the people who once occupied it.

Kākh-e Marmar begins with that contrast.

Imagine the cool touch of stone in the early evening. The last daylight passes across a carved edge. Somewhere beyond the room, a garden has begun to settle into darkness. There is a faint suggestion of flowers, polished wood and the warmth left by human presence.

The inspiration is grand, but the feeling is personal.

For this fragrance, the palace becomes a way of considering what remains when ceremony falls away. Its beauty exists in the smaller details, in the quiet spaces and in the traces of a life that history cannot fully describe.

Part of GAIA Parfums' Islamic Heritage Collection, Kākh-e Marmar takes its name from Tehran's Marble Palace and approaches its heritage through refinement, warmth and intimacy.

THE WEARING EXPERIENCE

On Skin

First Impression

The opening is likely to feel soft and textured rather than sharply fresh. Orris butter suggests a fine, powdery character, while jasmine absolute introduces a fuller floral presence. Saffron provides contrast through its dry, gently spicy warmth. Together, these notes suggest a composed opening with an underlying richness that prepares the way for the roses.

As It Settles

As the opening settles, the floral character becomes more pronounced. Turkish rose absolute and Rosa Gallica form the centre, with tuberose introducing a creamy, more expressive floral quality. Amber adds warmth beneath the flowers, giving the heart a rounded, enveloping feel. The effect is richer and less powdery than the initial impression, while retaining its refined character.

Later on Skin

The base moves toward deeper woods and animalic warmth. Thai Trat oud provides a dark woody direction, while Indian and Australian sandalwoods suggest a smoother, creamier texture. Kashmiri musk and castoreum introduce an intimate, skin-like and potentially leathery dimension. The anticipated finish is warm, textured and complex, with the floral richness gradually giving way to darker notes.

THE ORIGINAL COLLECTION

The Original Collection

The Islamic Heritage Collection by GAIA Parfums explores historical and cultural subjects through the language of independent perfumery. Kākh-e Marmar approaches this idea through architecture, drawing inspiration from the Marble Palace in Tehran, Iran.

The palace's former royal purpose, its marble surfaces and its Persian decorative details offer a setting associated with craftsmanship, ceremony and beauty. The fragrance interprets those qualities through a powdery floral opening, a generous rose heart and a deeper foundation of oud, sandalwood and animalic notes.

Its place in the collection is shaped by this contrast between public grandeur and private experience.

Rather than attempting to reproduce a historical place literally, Kākh-e Marmar offers a personal interpretation of its atmosphere, materials and cultural associations.

THE DETAILS

Wearing the Fragrance

Kākh-e Marmar may be especially appealing during evenings, formal gatherings or occasions where a rich floral-woody scent feels appropriate. Its rose, amber, oud and sandalwood character suggests a natural affinity with cooler temperatures, although individual preferences and wearing conditions will vary.

In Karachi's warmer weather, begin with a light application, particularly if you will spend extended periods indoors or in shared spaces. Allow the fragrance to settle before deciding whether you would like to apply more.

The composition may suit those who enjoy a more expressive fragrance for special occasions, while its powdery floral character can also make it appealing for quieter, personal moments.

Performance & Application

The longevity, projection and sillage of Kākh-e Marmar have not been specified as verified performance figures. Its official notes suggest a rich floral and woody character, but the note pyramid alone cannot determine how strongly the perfume will project or how long it will remain noticeable.

Performance can vary with skin chemistry, climate, application and storage.

For your first wearing, begin with a modest application and observe how the fragrance develops throughout the day or evening. Your own experience will provide the most useful guidance for future application.

Care & Storage

Store Kākh-e Marmar upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and prolonged exposure to heat. Avoid keeping the bottle beside a window, in a hot vehicle or near sources of humidity and changing temperatures.

Keeping the fragrance in its original packaging or a closed cabinet can help limit unnecessary exposure to light. Close the bottle securely after use and handle it with clean, dry hands.
